![]() ![]() TL2 appears to have both these qualities in spades. For me, an RPG needs to be equal parts customization and adventure. Wardrobe sets, armor, modding - this will create a much more diverse game. - Torchlight 1 & 2 (I wish Runic games hadnt imploded.) It is unfortunate that most of these dont. On top of all of this, I'm just happy that not every character is going to look so absurdly similar to one another. That said, you might want to find similar hack and slack style games. Bethesda has used it to create a huge PC fanbase for its Elder Scrolls games. However, just like any game, Torchlight 2, can bore after multiple playthroughs or for when you simply run out of content. Valve, for instance, has basically turned it into a business model. The games so twisted and convoluted wrapped up in its own mechanics even long-time hardcore players are noping out due to balance issues. Since modding is basically crowd-sourcing additional content, I'm still not sure why more developers and publishers aren't welcoming it with open arms. Torchlight 3 isnt as balls to the wall intense as Path of Exile, no but then if youre that into mechanics youll know that PoEs devs painted themselves into a corner by being so intense. The fact that the game will also be open to modding should help increase the scale and longevity of the game as well. Ive been considering picking up Torchlight 2 while it is on sale in the Steam sale. PoE is a huge game with tons of build option but in my opinion doesn’t run as well as Torchlight. Ideally, the multiplayer that everyone has asked for will further increase the longevity of the game (we certainly hope so!) These are all new assets as well ( some monsters and weapons return from Torchlight, but they have all been recreated, or in the case of some individual weapons and shields, updated and repainted.)" Torchlight 2 is a simple self contained game. You can read more about the game's scale here.Īccording to Runic Games, " Torchlight II is close to 4x the scale of Torchlight 1 as far as assets go and probably close to that as far as playtime. ![]()
